Draw for RLWC 2017 to be announced next week

first_imgPapua New Guinea Kumuls coach Michael Marum and captain David Mead will be present during the announcement.The RLWC2017 will see 14 nations play 28 games over five weeks in Australia, New Zealand and PNG from October 27 to December 2, 2017.PNG will host three matches at the World Cup with each of the Kumuls’ pool games to be held in Port Moresby.The Kangaroos’ Australian coach Mal Meninga and captain Cameron Smith, and Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney and captain Jesse Bromwich, will also attend the announcement event.Meantime, selection for the Kumuls to participate at the RLWC2017 is still open to players taking part in domestic competitions like the Digicel Cup.Marum says selection will be open to players in the Digicel Cup, Queensland Intrust Super Cup, NRL and the Super League that is played in England.He said all these players are performing well and will be considered as selectors will have to pick the best players.PNG is currently ranked 11th out of 35 countries in the RLIF World Rankings issued recently.Kumuls improved three places after the 24-22 victory over the Fiji Batis in the Pacific Test in May.last_img
