Kothagudem: Anganwadi workers took out a protest rally and also staged a dharna in front of Collectorate on Wednesday demanding the government to pay the pending bills besides releasing their enhanced salaries. A large number of workers who took part in the protest raised slogans against the government.Speaking on the occasion, Anganwadi Teachers and Workers Union leader G Padma demanded the government to release office rent bills immediately that have been pending for the last 19 months. She also urged the government to provide the necessary stationery in Anganwadis. Leaders of CITU union Venkatamma, Shanati, CITU district president AJ Ramesh, secretary Brahmachary and others extended their support to the agitators. Later, the leaders and workers submitted a memorandum to the Collector, who had promised them of necessary action.
