New Delhi: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has started an investigating in the cheating case where persons were allegedly duped by a private company and its officials on the pretext of paying the higher rate of interest up to 200 per cent on monthly basis. According to police, the complainant in the case claimed himself as retired army personnel. In 2018, he got a message on his mobile phone from the suspects to invest money in the company and they (company) will give 200 per cent interest. The suspects told him that they will launch a taxi facility like other companies and will invest complainant’s money on the project. “The complainant invested Rs nine lakh. His friends also invested in the company. Only for two months, installment came in the account of the complainant. Later no installment was received,” police said.
